How would you describe your role?
I’m responsible for all things related to finance; that includes everything internally, from accounting to forecasting, but also everything externally when dealing with the banks, credit agreements, and the M&A market as well. So, anything related to finance, Treasury, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance.
How would you describe your leadership style?
I’m very hands-on, but I also trust my team and empower them to make decisions on their own and involve me when they think it’s necessary. I believe in strong team culture. Work hard but have fun. My team hopefully appreciates that. I like to try to inject a little fun here and there.
What’s something new that you’ve learned recently?
More generally, just the impact the government can have on the industry. I’ve seen it over the years with government shutdowns and change in political parties. I think the speed at which this administration is changing has required everyone to adapt a little bit faster than previously and stay more in tune with current events and what’s going on. So, out of the last couple years here, I would say that’s been a bigger impact than maybe my prior 25 years.
What’s something you’re excited to see grow or develop?
The product side of our Veilant business has really taken off, and we invested heavily over the years. At the end of last year, we really started to see it take traction. We had some of our largest bookings ever, which carried forward from the fourth quarter of last year into 2026, and we’re seeing additional awards come in on those products as well.
How would you describe Veilant’s culture?
I think the word dedicated is probably the most significant, the dedication to our customers and making sure they have mission success. It’s also the dedication to our employees and making sure they’re growing and developing. We’ve had a significant number of promotions over the two years that I’ve been here, so it’s been amazing to watch people individually grow and develop while contributing to our customers’ success. Seeing the passion that our employees bring to make sure that the customers are successful – I think dedicated is a good word.
How do you think we uniquely demonstrate value to our customers?
We’re highly adaptable. A customer will come to us with a very high-level problem and we come up with solutions very quickly. Sometimes it’s right off-the-shelf for us, and other times, it takes a lot of engineering effort to get to an answer that the customer might not know they need, but that they do actually need. And our people are so smart that they’re able to help figure that out ahead of time and the customer is again successful in their mission.
What is your superpower?
What I’ve heard people say is that I’m relentless, but in a good way. I never give up, so no matter what’s been thrown at me, I’m figuring out a solution to get through it and seeing it to the end. Relentless might sound bad if you just say the word, but it’s really seeing problems through beginning to end, even if they seem insurmountable.
